…(ADHD) is an invention. Every child who’s not doing well in school is sent to see a pediatrician, and the pediatrician says: “It’s ADHD; here’s Ritalin.” In fact, 90 percent of these 5.4 million (ADHD-diagnosed) kids don’t have an abnormal dopamine metabolism. The problem is, if a drug is available to doctors, they’ll make the corresponding diagnosis.” – Jerome Kagan, Psychologist and Professor at Harvard University....

...Kagan says that more money flows to psychologists, psychiatrists and others who conduct research on conditions such as ADHD – a result of over-diagnosis and over-prescription...

According to Kagan, “If you do interviews with children and adolescents aged 12 to 19, then 40 percent can be categorized as anxious or depressed. But if you take a close look and ask how many of them are seriously impaired by this, the number shrinks to 8 percent.”

Care for your children and students by understanding them earlier, talking with them, giving love and proper training are the most important; drugs / medicine is not the only way

".........So it may be surprising for you to learn that Kagan believes the diagnosis of ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) is an invention which mainly benefits the pharmaceutical industry and psychiatrists.

About the alternatives to pharmaceutical drugs for behavioral abnormalities Kagan said that we could look at tutoring, as an example. It’s a good start since children who are diagnosed with ADHD are mainly the children who are struggling at school.

今天是 May 5, 2017，原來不經不覺第一位 phoTALKgraphy 試者就在上年的今天參與；沒有這位試者的信任，我進行不了第一次的 phoTALKgraphy；這位試者以後，就是我整合往後 phoTALKgraphy 的力量和起跑助力。

2016年7月就正式推行各個 phoTALKgraphy，一路不停的推動着，也感恩遇上信任的人來參與、來共同發掘生活意義；在 phoTALKgraphy 過程中聽到來自不同主角的獨特故事，這些零散故事他們最初以為是不經意地發生在他們的生活裏，但發掘和扣連後就知道這些故事本也就是令他們引以自豪、引以為傲的人生和生活意義的情節。
